The 2024 Women’s Affinity Basketball Festival with TYPE and WKBL The Second will be held at the Dowon Gymnasium in Incheon on March 9th. TYPE, a custom brand, is the title sponsor of the tournament, which is supported by the WKBL. MOLTEN, the official ball of the KBL and the Korea Basketball Association, will also support the awards.

As mentioned earlier, LM is a powerhouse in the women’s club tradition. It was founded in 2013 and won five tournaments in 2024 (the 6th Basketball Institute Division W, the 5th Gangdong-gu Association Championship, the Unemployed Basketball Federation Championship, the Seoul Mayor’s Championship, and the Gimpo City Association Championship).
LM’s captain, Jeon Ye-seul, said, “Even though we celebrated our 10th anniversary, five of our founding members are still playing. To that extent, we are a tight-knit, family-like club,” said Jeon, who serves as LM’s captain.
“There are always around 10 active members. It’s not a lot of people, but there’s very little turnover, and there’s no distinction between the starters and the bench. We play basketball together,” he said, emphasizing the idea of playing basketball together.
He also added the influence of Linda, his eternal spiritual support, saying, “I play basketball while being criticized by Linda (laughs), but my teammates play better after hearing her stories.”
Meanwhile, LM also won the 2023 Women’s Basketball Club Festival with WKBL with Pyeongchon Woori Hospital. She hopes to win the second edition of the women’s festival as well.
Is that why? Jeon’s ambition was simple. “I will play hard. Don’t whine, just do it!” she concluded. Instead of thinking about a distant goal, she thought about moving and playing on the court.
