Klinsmann’s striker emergency ahead of

Europe trip Oh Hyun-gyu joins Cho Kyu-sung in injury list

Jürgen Klinsmann, head coach of the South Korean national soccer team.

Klinsmann’s team in search of a first win away from home in Europe. Cho Kyu-sung

(Meatwillan), who has been on fire after qualifying for Europe, has gone down with

an injury, 섯다 deepening the team’s worries about its front line for the September A match.

Cho started the 2023-24 Danish Superliga Round 5 home match against Brønnby at

the MCH Arena in Henning, Denmark, on Monday morning (Sept. 21) as a frontline striker,

but was replaced in the first 20 minutes by Junior Brumadou.

Cho, who has four goals in seven games this season, was working diligently up front when

he felt discomfort in his right thigh and was immediately substituted. After leaving the field

and receiving treatment, Cho returned to the bench with his right thigh taped.

The location and extent of Cho’s injury has not been officially announced, but it is suspected

to be a hamstring injury. If it is a hamstring injury, he will need at least two to three weeks of rehabilitation and treatment.

This is bad news for the national team, which is traveling to England in September.

South Korea, which has yet to win a game since Jürgen Klinsmann took over as head coach in

March, 온라인섯다 with two draws and two losses in four matches, will play its first September

A match against Wales on Sept. 8 at Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. They will then face

Saudi Arabia on Sept. 13 at St. James’ Park in Newcastle, England.

After failing to secure a victory in their previous four matches with the lopsided support of their

home fans, South Korea will be looking for their first win in a more difficult environment.

With Asia’s second round of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup North America in November

and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup next January, the Koreans are in desperate

need of a quick win to lift their spirits.

The injury to Cho Kyu-sung, who has been one of the team’s most consistent performers of late, has left
South Korea without a weighty presence up front.

Jo has scored four goals this season, including a brace against European defenses, after

immediately breaking into the starting lineup following his move from Midtjylland.

Along with Cho, Hwang Eui-jo (Nottingham) and Oh Hyun-kyu (Celtic), who have both been

called up twice under Klinsmann, are also in bad shape. Hwang joined the team’s preseason squad in July, but hasn’t played in two consecutive games since the start. After being left off the roster for the opening game, Hwang was named to the substitutes’ bench in the second round, but never saw the field.

Oh injured his calf in a preseason game just before the start of the Scottish League. He is expected to take up to six weeks to recover, but he is focused on getting better.

If the injuries to the main strikers are prolonged and they are unable to play, 고스톱 Klinsmann will have to find a new striker or change the roles of other players.
