The South Korean national soccer team is looking for its first win under Jürgen Klinsmann.
The national soccer team will face Wales at 3:45 a.m. KST on Aug. 8 at Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. It will be the first time in five years and six months that the national team has played an A match in Europe since March 2018 under Shin Tae-yong. It’s a must-win game for Klinsmann. Klinsmann is the only foreign coach in South Korea’s history to have never won more than four games in charge of the national team. Since taking over in February, Klinsmann has two draws and two losses in four matches. In March, the team drew 2-2 with Colombia in a doubleheader, then lost 1-2 to Uruguay. In June, they lost 0-1 to Peru before drawing 1-1 with El Salvador.

Captain Son Heung-min (Tottenham) scored a hat trick in an English Premier League (EPL) match against Burnley on Feb. 2, while Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton) returned from a thigh injury a week later and scored his second goal of the season at Crystal Palace on Feb. 3.
