Ryder Cup captain Bradley “asks Tiger Woods to participate”

Keegan Bradley (USA), who will captain the U.S. team at next year’s Ryder Cup, the U.S.-European golf competition, said on Friday (Aug. 25) that he has asked Tiger Woods (USA) to play a role in the Ryder Cup.

“I told Woods at The Open that I wanted him to be involved in the Ryder Cup in any way he wanted,” Bradley, who is competing in the PGA Tour’s 3M Open in Minnesota, USA, said at a press conference a day ahead of the tournament.

Woods was a favorite to be Ryder Cup captain next year, but he declined, citing his many responsibilities as PGA Tour director of policy, and the job went to an unlikely candidate, Bradley.

Bradley said, “We didn’t talk at length at the Open because we were both so busy, but the Ryder Cup is still 14 months away, so there’s plenty of time.” He made it clear that he would discuss whether and how Woods would participate in the future in a calm manner.

Bradley, who was appointed captain on Sept. 9, first named Webb Simpson (USA) as his assistant captain and plans to name several other assistant captains in the near future.

If Woods makes the Ryder Cup team, he could be one of the vice-captains, but given his stature, it’s more likely he’ll create another position.

Bradley, meanwhile, revealed that he was informed three weeks before it was officially announced that he would be the captain, but he kept it a secret and didn’t tell anyone. 파워볼사이트 추천
