Hangzhou AG 12,500 players registered…the most ever
More than 12,000 athletes are expected to participate in the Hangzhou Asian Games, which will open in September.
The Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee says 45 countries under the Olympic Council of Asia have registered about 12,500 athletes by the 15th deadline.
This is the largest number ever, exceeding 11,300 at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games.
There are 483 gold medals at the Asian Games in 40 official and 61 detailed events.
