‘Side injury’ Ohtani misses second straight start

Suffered a side injury against Baltimore on May 5.

Shohei Ohtani (29-LA Angels) is out of the starting lineup for the second straight game with a side injury. The manager was coy about Ohtani’s status.

Ohtani missed the Angels’ home game against the Baltimore Orioles on Sept. 5 due to a right oblique injury, 섯다 and he also missed the game on Sept. 6.

Recently discovered to have elbow ligament damage, Ohtani will not take the mound anymore this season. Ohtani had been hitting in his remaining games, but to make matters worse, he developed a side issue. The Angels did not place Ohtani on the disabled list.

This year, Ohtani hit .304 with 44 home runs, 95 RBIs, and a 1.066 OPS in 135 games as a hitter, and went 10-5 with a 3.14 ERA in 23 appearances as a pitcher. However, there are question marks over Ohtani’s health and the extent of his injuries, making it unclear if he will be able to complete the rest of the season.
