Pedi’s fall isn’t over yet…Kang Kwon-ho, “It could be the last one today, so stand by for bullpen report on Pedi’s status”
The fall is far from over for 20-win ace Eric Peddy (NC). Manager Kang Myung-hyun hinted at Pedi’s bullpen spot in a game that could end in a loss.
Ahead of Game 5 against the KT Wiz at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Friday, manager Kang Myung-hyun talked about the possibility of using Peddie, who is unable to start Game 5 due to shoulder and elbow fatigue.
The series is tied at 2-2, but NC has taken over the tone of the series. The best way to turn the tide was to have Eric Pedroia, the 20-win, 200-strikeout ace, 먹튀검증 on the mound to instill fear in the opposition. However, Pedroia was unable to start Game 5 as the fatigue accumulated in his shoulder was not completely gone.
“He kept saying that his shoulder was a little heavy after the first game,” Kang said. “He had time to recover, but to talk about discomfort now means that his fatigue level is high and it’s unreasonable for him to start,” Kang explained.
NC had lost two games after two wins,
So they needed to change the atmosphere. Shin Min-hyuk will start, but Pedi cannot be spared. This could be their last game of the season, so they need to give it their all, and that includes Pedi.
“Today could be our last game,” said Kang Myung-hyun. He’ll train, come in, watch the situation, get a report, and wait in the middle. I’m going to wait in the bullpen and see if I can use him again,” he explained. Tanner and Yong-Joon Lee were the only two players on the disabled list. Aside from those two, the team plans to utilize Pedi.
“We haven’t decided on the number of pitches and innings yet. We’ll see what happens when he comes in and we’ll decide then,” he said. “He’s struggling and he’s disappointed that he can’t pitch. I think he’s doing what he can do right now.”
As for Shin Min-hyuk, who will start in place of Pedi, he encouraged him, saying, “He has pitched well in the postseason for two games in a row, so I think he will show the same pitches as in the previous games if he puts down the pressure.”
Meanwhile, NC made a number of changes to its lineup.
Son Asub (designated hitter), Seo Ho-cheol (third base), Park Min-woo (second base), Park Gun-woo (right field), Kwon Hee-dong (left field), Martin (center field), Oh Young-soo (first base), Kim Hyung-joon (catcher), and Kim Joo-won (shortstop) were the starting lineup. Seo Ho-chul moved up to second and Martin dropped to sixth.
“We batted forward with players who are in good shape,” Kang said. Seo had a good at-bat in the last at-bat of the fourth game, so I thought that was crucial, so I put him up front,” Kang said, adding, “Martin decided it was better to change the lineup and bat comfortably.”
