“I think about the championship every time I work out”
Bucheon Hana OneQ finished fourth in the 2023-2024 regular season (10 wins and 20 losses), marking its first spring basketball season since its inception. The offseason was also hot. Despite the departure of Shin Ji-hyun as a compensatory player, the team had a successful end to the Air Conditioning League, signing free agent Max Er Jin-an as well as internal free agents.
Jeong Yerim, who was selected as the fourth overall pick in the 2019-2020 WKBL Draft, is also sweating it out every day in a 먹튀검증 Hana OneQ uniform.
“It’s been a little over a month since I was called up. I went to a training camp in Taebaek, and nowadays, I’m training in the gym and playing practice games together,” he said.
Last season, Jeong averaged 6.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 29 minutes and 30 seconds in 24 regular-season games. Despite not attempting many three-pointers, he shot 42.6 percent (29-of-68) from beyond the arc. On March 13 against the Cheongju KB Stars, she showed off her offensive prowess, scoring 20 points (a career-high 27) in a single game.
“Before last season, I felt like my shots weren’t falling because I didn’t have enough confidence, but I think I’ve gotten better (at shooting) through the 2023-2024 season. “You have to look at the one through three positions, and every position should have a shot. With Jinan joining us, we’re stronger inside, so we’re going to be more aggressive with our shots,” he said of his shooting.
“Coach gives me a lot of advice on how to play the No. 1 spot. I’m paying a lot of attention to my passing and ball control.”
“I try to communicate with her a lot,” she said of her new sister Jinan. We talk a lot, not only in games but also in everyday life. She has a very nice personality. Everyone on the team likes her,” he said.
When asked about Shin Ji-hyun’s absence, she said, “Shin Ji-hyun was the center of gravity in the front. (Kim) Sion is doing a good job, but I need to work harder. It’s not without pressure. So I’m preparing harder,” she said.
But she’s not satisfied with herself just yet. “Towards the end of the season, my knee hurt, so I rehabilitated it. I couldn’t do 120% in training, and I couldn’t even do 100%. I wasn’t happy with myself, and I didn’t like it,” he said, adding that he continues to improve his condition.
“Now I have more responsibility in the front line. I’m trying to improve my one-on-one skills and actively attack when I need to solve a problem. I think about the championship every time I train, and I’m determined to do my best as the chances (of advancing to the championship) have increased.”
