Kim Hyun-gyeom wins men’s singles at the fifth edition of the Figure Junior Grand Prix

Men’s figure skating standout Kim Hyun-gyeom (17, AD, Korea) 스포츠토토 won the fifth edition of the 2023-24 International Ice Skating Union (ISU) Junior Grand Prix.

Kim earned 149.54 points in the men’s single free skate with a technical score of 79.04, artistic score of 71.50 and one demerit on Wednesday (Feb. 23) in Budapest, Hungary.

After scoring 72.61 points in the short program earlier in the day, Kim won the gold medal with a final total of 222.15 points, ahead of Naoki Rossi (Switzerland – 204.79 points).

Kim finished second in the short program, 토토 but came from behind to win the free skate with a personal best score.

After winning silver at the second Grand Prix in August, Kim has now medaled in two Junior Grand Prix Series events.

With his silver medal at the second event (13 points) and gold medal at this event (15 points), he now has 28 points on the season and has booked his ticket to the Junior Grand Prix Final in Beijing, China, in December.

The Junior Grand Prix Final is a best-of-three tournament featuring the top six performers in each event in the Junior Grand Prix Series, which is in its seventh edition.

Kim Hyun-gyeom will be the third Korean men’s singles player to compete in the Junior Grand Prix Final after Lee Jun-hyung (retired) and Cha Jun-hwan (Korea University).

Meanwhile, in the women’s singles event on Thursday, No. 1 Shin Jia (Yeongdong) and No. 6 Kim Yoo-sung (Pyeongchon) will try to win a medal together in the short program. 스포츠토토링크
