AG seeks third straight gold medal in seven of eight Games
Only Olympic champion from an Asian country
South Korean women’s handball is one of the most competitive sports in the game.
They are Asia’s only Olympic gold medalist, winning back-to-back titles at Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992.
While the sport has faded from the world stage, 한국야동 it is still considered a powerhouse in Asia.

Women’s handball has been a part of the Asian Games since the 1990 Beijing Games, a year later than men. The women won five consecutive titles between then and Doha 2006.
They settled for bronze at Guangzhou 2010, but returned to the top of the podium at Incheon 2014 and Jakarta-Palembang 2018. In total, she has won seven gold medals in eight Asian Games.
Standout athlete Ryu Eun-hee (Gyorgyi, Hungary) also took note.

Japan also remained in the top four in Asia. They won back-to-back silver medals in Guangzhou and Incheon, and bronze in Jakarta and Palembang.
The organizing committee took note of the one-point victory between South Korea and Japan at the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification last month. South Korea won in dramatic fashion, 25-24, to qualify for their 11th consecutive Olympic Games.
It will be interesting to see if Japan can use that loss as motivation to end Korea’s dominance.
South Korea, who are in Group A, will play their first game against Uzbekistan on the 25th. They will then face Thailand on the 27th and Kazakhstan on the 30th.
